The Making Steps

  • Cut your board using a kreg jig and use 2 inch screws to secure the box. The size will be 19 inch at the top and 17 ½” for the bottom, and the height will be 29 ¼”. Do not forget the add the gap at the bottom for more or less 1 ¾”.
  • Add wood trim to the unattractive side to make it better and use finish nails and glue to secure it.
  • Also add some trims to the back of your box and if you want you can cover the back of the box using ¼” plywood.
  • Cover the gap at the bottom using the wood trim. You can décor it as you like, but mind the size. Then finish it with finish nails and glue.
  • Also add the side trim to the front box for approximately 25 ¼”, and leave the gap for the top side. Then, finish it with finish nails and glue.
  • Add the frim for the top gap for 19” long and use finish nails and glue.
  • Add front edge above the previous gap with the same length, and nail and glue it down.
  • Then this part deals with the raised panel door, you need to carefully look at the image since it will be difficult to explain. Add the 1/8” gap on each side of the opening door. Then, for the inset, measure the boom part of the box, and it will be the width of your inset door. For the sides, the length will be 12” and cut it to half.
  • Then, add the hinge on the bottom side to secure the front door. Also add the knob or puller at the top side of your front door.
